PURPOSE:A stable nicorandil tablet obtained by blending nicorandil with a specific saturated higher fatty acid or saturated higher alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A tablet obtained by blending a composition of nicorandil [N-(2- hydroxyethyl)nicotinamide nitrate] with >=0.5wt% one or a mixture of two or more of saturated higher fatty acids, e.g. palmitic acid, stearic acid, etc., or saturated higher alcohols, e.g. cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, etc., which are solid at ordinary temperature. The above-mentioned composition is prepared by blending nicorandil crystals with a pharmaceutical carrier, e.g. excipient, disintegrating agent, lubricant, colorant, binder, etc. The remedy has coronary vasodilator and coronary arterial contraction inhibitory action and is a remedy for various disease types of angina pectoris hardly affecting cardiac blood circulation kinetics and cardiac function. EFFECT:A step of coating the nicorandil crystals is not required. |
