The subject of the present invention is a method and a component for the construction of building walls. A component of the invention is mainly characterised in that it comprises, on the outside, a slab of reinforced concrete or the like, and, on its periphery, set back from their edges 5, a flange 7 defining a trough on the inside filled with insulating material, from these flanges project reinforcement elements 14 and, on the inside, a coated panel made of insulating material 6, having the same dimensions as the outside panel, so that the component has, at least on its three edges, two lateral projecting parts 5 and 6 and a central recessed part 7 forming, when they are assembled with the facing adjacent elements, a vertical gap 8 and a groove at the upper part, intended to receive concrete or the like. The method essentially consists in pouring concrete into the gaps 8 after the components have been installed. Applications in the construction of detached houses, blocks of flats, premises, offices, various shelters, etc. <IMAGE>
