A gasline system is safeguarded, in particular against fire, by means of a safety closure which can be arranged in the gas supply line, supplying the gasline system with gas, and which automatically closes the gas supply line under the effect of heat. The safety closure has a shut-off damper, which is fitted in the region of the gas supply line and can be actuated by means of an actuating member which is in operative connection with a temperature sensor arranged at a location remote from the shut-off damper.
