PURPOSE:To make extremely safe and sure assembly and disassembly and to considerably shorten the time for operation by gripping a divided back up roll with a hoisting jig, imposing the same on an imposing base, vertically turning the jig and fixing the same. CONSTITUTION:A stationary arm 15 to support one end of the divided back up roll 2, a turning arm 14 to support the other end and spacer arms 103-106 are provided to the hoisting jig 1. The roll 2 is gripped and fixed to the jig 1 by using these arms. Such jig 1 is hoisted by a crane and projecting shafts 19a, 19b of the jig 1 are placed horizontally to the bearing 33 of the imposing base 3. The jig 1 is then rotated 90 deg. and is fixed vertically. The disassembly of the divided rolls 2a-2e is executed by using prescribed pullers in this state. The extremely safe and sure assembly and disassembly are, therefore, executed and the time for the operation is considerably shortened.
