PURPOSE:To detect the error of a magnetic disk device by providing a write data generator to write data in a magnetic disk medium and a circuit to measure the data written in the magnetic disk medium and a head output voltage. CONSTITUTION:A write data generator 3 prepared a data pattern written in a magnetic disk device. For the aging of the magnetic disk device, a cylinder number like a waveform 12 is written on all cylinders, the head output voltage of several cylinders is measured and a measured value is stored. After processing, the random seeking is executed for a carriage, the data written by respective cylinders are read by using an A/D C AMP 4, the collation of the seeked cylinder number and the comparison of a head output voltage are executed, and when the difference in the cylinder number and the output voltage error are large, the error data and the time from the seek starting are written on a special cylinder as an error. Consequently, the defective analysis of a defective device and the next process flow of the defective device can be prevented.
