PURPOSE:To apply sudden braking by simple constitution by fitting (m-1) changeover contacts mutually short-circuiting an m phase winding. CONSTITUTION:When closing a switch 8, a relay 19 is energized and changeover contacts 19a, 19b for the relay 19 are connected to the contact 22a, 22b side, motor windings 1a-1c are supplied with power from a motor winding 18 from a control circuit 18, and a motor begins to be turned. When opening the switch 8, the controller 18 is detached from a power supply, thus stopping control. The relay 19 is de-energized, and the changeover contacts 19a, 19b are each changed over to the contact 20a, 20b side. Accordingly, the motor windings 1a-1c are brought mutually to a dead short-circuit state, thus applying sudden braking to the motor.
