PURPOSE:To make a crank pin, etc. to be cut in high speed with a simple mechanism by rotating a tool slide on the outer circumference of a fixed workpiece with a drive gear, rotating a gear with a cam groove formed thereon concentrically with said drive gear but with its phase shifted therefrom, and feeding a cutter in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION:The journal part 5a of a crank shaft 5 is held with a chuck 6, a pin 5b is maintained at the center of a machining unit 12, a pinion 23 and a drive gear 17 is rotated by driving a servo-motor 25, and a tool slide 27 is rotated. At the same time, a gear 22 having a number of gear one smaller than that of the gear 17 and being concentric with, and having the same diameter as the gear 17 is rotated as a phase is shifted, and a slide 27 is made in-feed through a cam follower 35 by means of a cam groove 34. A cutter 29 quickly advances to the crank pin 5b from a zero position, starts cutting feed, finishes an outer diameter in a fixed dimension, returns to the zero position by quick return motion, and the motor 25 is controlled in its speed by means of a limit switch without slippage of a position.
