PURPOSE:To supplement tools of a fixed magazine when they are short in number by directly receiving and delivering tools of a transfer magazine to an automatic tool replacing device without accommodating them temporarily in the fixed magazine if necessary. CONSTITUTION:A replacing device consisting of an L-shape ready station 9 which replaces tools of a fixed magazine indexed with tools of a main shaft 7 and a Z-shape twin arm 10 is provided at the side of a column 6 and the magazine. Some tens of tools are stored at the side of the column 6 so that their axial cores are made to be right angle and horizontal to the main shaft, and a fixed first magazine 12a which can index tools selectively to the tool replacing position and which is connected endlessly and supported by a chain, and a second magazine 12b which is arranged in the same form with the first magazine are installed. The tool replacement with a tool stocker 22 is made by means of a transfer magazine 16, but if necessary, it can be made directly without accommodating the tools temporarily in the fixed magazines 12a, 12b. |
