PURPOSE:To keep air-conditioning capacity in a proper value substantially in spite of the change of atmospheric temperature and improve comfortable property in respective rooms by a method wherein the capacity control of a compressor, which is effected in accordance with the number of operating sets of indoor machines, is corrected in accordance with the atmospheric temperature. CONSTITUTION:A capacity changing means 31 is controlled by a capacity control means 56 in accordance with the number of operating sets of indoor machines so that the capacity of a compressor 1 is adjusted to a value in accordance with the number of operating sets of the indoor machines. The capacity control of the compressor 1, which is effected by the capacity control means 56, is corrected under this condition by a correcting means 57 in accordance with an atmospheric temperature while the capacity of the compressor is corrected so as to be reduced in accordance with the increase of the heat amount radiating efficiency of an outdoor machine when the atmospheric temperature becomes low during cooling operation to restrain the increase of air-conditioning capacity whereby the air-conditioning capacity is kept in a proper value substantially. On the other hand, the capacity of the compressor is corrected so as to be reduced in accordance with the increase of the heat amount absorbing efficiency of the outdoor machine to restrain the increase of the air-conditioning capacity when the atmospheric temperature is increased during heating operation whereby the air- conditioning capacity may be kept in a proper value.
