摘要 A process for simultaneously preparing ethanol and vital gluten from wheat. In the process, the wheat raw material is ground and all the bran is removed by sieving. The gluten in the resulting wheat meal is exposed and removed separately, prior to the cooking process, with the aid of a given quantity of sugar solution which is obtained from the sweet spent mash which arises in a later stage. The remainder of the sweet spent mash is mixed with decanted spent wash, with this then being followed by fermentation and distillation in accordance with known technology. All the starch which is present in the wheat is converted into ethanol, with carbon dioxide and a dry protein fodder as byproducts. The system requires neither spent mash evaporation nor effluent purification. <IMAGE>
