Nozzle for treating a running thread

A nozzle for treating a running thread, for example for texturing, is fed with a hot gas or vapour. The nozzle is designed so that it can be opened for the insertion of the thread. There opens into the parting plane an air channel which is under pressure and the air pressure of which is monitored. The air pressure is an indicator as to whether the nozzle is properly closed. When limit values of the air pressure are exceeded, an alarm signal is triggered, the nozzle is opened or the supply of gas or of vapour is interrupted.
