PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a product, and to reduce its manufacturing cost by forming the inside layer of a metal whose corrosion resistance and wear resistance are excellent, to a prescribed thickness through plasma buildup welding, on the pipe inside surface of along-sized metallic outside pipe. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized metallic outside pipe 10 of >=2m is inclined to an angle of 5-30 deg. and held rotatably, and also, a plasma arc torch 12 is inserted and provided in the inside. A tungsten electrode 18 is provided on a nozzle part 16 of the tip of the torch 12, and also, an inside cylinder 20 and an outside cylinder 22 are provided concentrically, respectively. Also, a plasma gas is supplied to a passage 26, a carrier gas containing a powder material of Ti, etc., is supplied to a passage 28, and by rotating the outside pipe 10, the torch 12 is moved, and an inside layer 14 is formed. In this case, a wall thickness ratio of the inside layer 14 and the outside pipe 10 is set to 0.02-0.8. In this way, the quality of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, etc., of a product is raised, and also, its manufacturing cost can be reduced.
