PURPOSE:To form an image having high quality by executing the electrostatic charging and image exposure of a photosensitive body distributing a color decomposition function part along its plane direction and having insulating property on its surface side, and then fully exposing the surface of the photosensitive body with a specific color light to develop an image on the photosensitive body with toner having the same polarity as the average potential of the color decomposition function part. CONSTITUTION:A drum-like photosensitive body 4 is constituted by forming a photoconductive layer or a function separation type photoconductive layer 2 consisting of a charge generating layer and a charge moving layer and an insulating layer 3 including a layer 3a consisting of color decomposition filters of red (R), a green (G) and a blue (B) on a conductive board 1. The surface of the photosensitive body 4 is electrified with uniform potential by an electrifier 5 and image exposure to the electrified surface is executed by an image exposing device 6 by using the reflected light of white projecting light by an original. Red light is uniformly projected to the image exposed surface in stead of blue light obtained by a lamp 7B and the image is developed by a developing device 8Y storing yellow toner. Subsequently, the image is similarly developed by a developing device 8M storing Magenta toner and a developing device 8C storing cyanide. Thus, the image having high quality can be formed by superposing three-color toner images.
