PURPOSE:To decrease the occupancy area on an IC chip by using a master-slave type delay flip-flop as a register and replacing a master function and a slave function in accordance with a transferring direction of data. CONSTITUTION:At the time of R=1 and L=0, clocked inverters 2 and 4 come to be a mere inverter function, clocked inverters 1 and 3, when they are in the open state, will become as if they were non-existent and are operated as the shift register to shift in the right direction. At such a time, a left half part functions as a master and a right half part functions as a slave. At the time of R=0 and L=1, the clocked inverters 1 and 3 come to be a mere inverter function, 2 and 4 come to be an open condition, are operated as the shift register to execute the data transmission in the left direction, the right half part functions as the master and the left half part functions as the slave. Thus, the register can be realized by the circuit with a satisfactory symmetry and the laying of wiring can be minimized. |
