PURPOSE:To obtain a measuring a machine with a better operability while least causing a misoperation, by arranging a speed command unit for commanding a relative moving speed and a generator for a specified reference speed signal in a driver. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 12, first, determines whether the reading in of an elapse point is commanded or not from a key board 13 and when this reading command is found, it is determined that a first reference speed Vref1 specified by the keyboard 13 is exceeded or not. When Vref1<V, then, a second reference speed Vref2 specified by the keyboard 13 is read in. Then, it is determined whether a command speed V of a speed command unit 4 is below the second reference speed Vref2 or not and given a command, the current output coordinate value of a position detector 5 is read in. Upon the end of reading in, the step is returned again to the decision on the presence of the reading command.
