A bus-like motor home having an approximately box-shaped vehicle body (1) which is closed all the way around, has a driver's compartment (19) with a windscreen (2). A living compartment (18) is situated adjacent to the driver's compartment. A bed (11), which bounds the top of the driver's compartment in a thermally insulating manner, is designed such that it can be folded up around a joint (15) arranged directly above the windscreen (2). In order without changing the vehicle body to be able to increase the size of the space above the bed without however, on the other hand, as a result incorporating areas into the living compartment which cannot be adequately thermally insulated, there is attached between the joint (15) and the area of the bed (11) which is adjacent to the windscreen (2), a lever (13) which is fastened to the bed (11) by a further joint (14) so that in the swung-down state the bed (11) is arranged in the region of the windscreen and optionally provided side windows, the bed (11) being thermally insulated with respect to the windscreen (2) and optionally present side windows (5). <IMAGE>
