PURPOSE:To make the mounting of a platen positive, simply and easy, by provid ing a guide member for guiding on operation lever so as to mesh the meshing part of the operation lever with that of a cam member. CONSTITUTION:A guide member 30 is mounted to a side frame 8 in close vicin ity to a notch 18 so as to be positioned above said notch 18 in the front side of an electronic typewrite 1 and formed of a columnar member protruded to the outside of the side frame 8. The guide member 30 is protruded to the outside of the side frame 8. The guide member 30 is protruded up to the lateral side of an operation lever 20 and, when a platen 11 is mounted in such a state that the meshing part 20b of the operation lever 20 can be meshed with the meshing part 21a of a cam member 21, said platen 11 is mounted at a position where the side part of the operation lever 20 is ready to contact with the guide mem ber 30. For example, when the knob part 20a of the operation lever 20 is in clined to the front side of the electronic typewriter 1, the knob part 20a if contacted with the guide member 30 to prescribe the operation lever 20 to a direction (almost vertical direction) contacting the meshing part 20b with the meshing part 21a.
