PURPOSE: A control method for opening and closing a water valve for a tap and a foot sensor switch device using the same are provided to prevent malfunction as a control part controls the opening of a water valve after receiving the primary and secondary sensing signals from a detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION: A control method for opening and closing a water valve for a tap is as follows. Whether or not primary sensing signals sensed by a detecting sensor are inputted is determined(S3). If the primary sensing signals are inputted, a water valve connected to a faucet is in an open standby state(S7). Whether or not secondary sensing signals are inputted is determined(S9). If the secondary sensing signals are inputted, the water valve is opened(S13). Whether or not third sensing signals are inputted is determined(S15). If fourth sensing signals are inputted, the water valve is closed(S23). If the third sensing signals are not inputted, the water valve is closed after being opened for a set time.
