PURPOSE:To smoothly reverse a paper sheet even if it has folds, etc. by forming at least either a carrying-in guide frame or a carrying-out guide frame of a reversing means into step difference form, in a paper sheet treating apparatus equipped with reversing function. CONSTITUTION:A turned-over paper sheet is transported into a revering part consisting of a transport guide frame 22, advance stopping member 24, carrying- out guide frame 23, and a guide roller 25 along an upwardly directed gate 1 and a transport belt 2. Since at least one of the both guide frames 22 and 23, e.g., a carrying-out guide frame 23 has a cut structural part 23c and the step difference structure parts 23a and 23b, even if the paper sheet has folds or creases, the frictional resistance in case of intrusion into the space part formed by the both guide frames 22 and 23 is reduced, and the paper sheet can be smoothly reversal-accommodated. Then, the turned-over paper sheet is switch-back transported between the transport belts 1 and 4 through the part between a reversal guide 20 and a convergence guide 5 by the revolution of the projection 26 of the guide roller 25. Thus,the reversing operation can be stabilized.
