PURPOSE:To feed a sheet continuously to a vacuum space without occurrence of wrinkles or slide by means of a simple seal, by feeding the sheet between a pair of pinch rolls equipped with a vacuum apparatus provided with a specified side seal and a specified lip seal. CONSTITUTION:A pair of pinch rolls comprising a metallic roll 4 and a roll 5 lined with a rubber of a hardness of 60-70 are provided within the casing 1 of a vacuum sealing apparatus in a freely rotatable manner. A side seal 2 having an inflatable face 2a which can be inflated by a fluid pressure is inserted in between each inside surface of the casing 1 and each end face of this pair of pinch rolls and a lip seal 3 provided with supports 3a in the inside of its L-shaped body and a rubber member 3b on its bottom is secured to the inside of the casing 1 in such a position that the rubber part 3b comes into contact with the upper surfaces of the rolls 4 and 5. In this way, the vacuum sealing apparatus is constructed. This apparatus is evacuated, and the sheet 7 is fed between the rolls 4 and 5, pinched closely by suitably changing the pinch pressure of the pair of the rolls by an air cylinder 6 and fed to a vacuum space. |
