PURPOSE:A polymeric elastomer is applied to a fibrous sheet containing cationic dye-dyeable fibers and a high-speed fluid is jetted to the product to produce a leather-like sheet which can develop colors well and has high flexibility. CONSTITUTION:A polymeric elastomer, e.g., polyurethane elastomer, is applied to a nonwoven fabric sheet which is formed by needle-punching cationic dye- dyeable fibers, especially fibrillating conjugated fibers selected from polyester fibers containing 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate, polyamide or polyacrylonitrile fibers. Then, the product is treated with jet flows of high speed fluid. Thus, a leather-like sheet of high flexibility, drapeability and abrasion resistance is obtained. |
