Shell-and-tube heat exchanger

A description is given of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger for air dryers or the like, which consists of an essentially cylindrical housing into which a tube bundle (bunch) having two sealing devices which grip the tube ends of the tubes of the tube bundle is inserted. The sealing devices consist of a sandwich-type structure of two pressure plates between which an elastic plate is situated, and the plates have aligned cutouts for accommodating the individual tube ends as well as an outside diameter matched to the inside diameter of the cylinder. The pinching devices serve to compress the pressure plates of the structure and to press the regions of the cutouts and the circumferential rim of the elastic plates in a sealing manner against the circumferential surfaces of the tube ends or the inner surface of the cylinder.
