PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance, by reacting a hydroxybenzoic acid with a halogenated benzoic acid in the presence of a 8-quinolinol copper complex catalyst and an alkali metallic carbonate, etc., in an aprotic polar solvent and a tris(polyoxaalkyl)amine solvent. CONSTITUTION:m- or p-hydroxybenzoic acid shown by formula I is reacted with a m- or p-halogenated benzoic acid shown by formula II (X is Br or Cl) in the presence of a 8-quinolinol copper complex catalyst by the use of 0.3-2.0 equivalents based on OH and COOH of raw material of an alkali metallic carbonate or hydroxide in an aprotic polar solvent (preferably sulfolane) and a tris (polyoxaalkyl)-amine shown by formula III (R is 1-4C alkyl; m is 2 or 3) as a reaction promoter at 150-200 deg.C to give a compound shown by formu la IV (COOH is in 3,3' or 3,4' position). An alkylene glycol shown by formula V (R and R' are H, CH3 or C2H5; n is 0-10) preferably exists in the reaction. USE:A raw material for heat-resistant high polymer. |
