PURPOSE:To generate optimum layout of a magazine in a short period by allowing a document arrangement means to correct arranged document information and to arrange it in a document area based on the inputted document arrangement information. CONSTITUTION:A document display means 1a assigns and displays prescribed document information in a document area designated from an input means 2. A line information display means 1c displays an excess or deficient line of the document information read from a document memory 5 in numerical data. A layout correction means 1d corrects freely the layout displayed on a display section 3 based on the excessor deficient line of the document displayed by the line information display means 1c. Further, the rule violation processing is applied in a document forming error area, a line pitch is varied to make the excess or deficient lines zero.
