PURPOSE:To prevent the excess migration of fibers to a doffer then speeding up cylinder rotation and improve the carding effect, by providing a fiber pressing titled surface at the tip of a front top sheet and reducing each gage to a specific low value or below. CONSTITUTION:A fiber pressing titled surface 17 is provided at the tip of a front top sheet 10 and a gage between the front top sheet 10 and a stripping door 11 and gage between a front bottom sheet 12 and the outer peripheral surface of a cylinder 1 are reduced to a value as small as <=1mm. Thereby the floating up of fibers from the cylinder 1 can be suppressed and entry of excess air currents into a gap between the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder 1 and the front bottom sheet 12 can be prevented.
