PURPOSE:To provide a protective film having high adhesive strength to a magnetic film and having excellent resistance to impact and wear by providing the nonmagnetic protective film laminated with a hard material layer or soft material layer or the nonmagnetic protective film laminated with >=1 sets of the combinations alternately combined with the hard material layers and soft magnetic layers. CONSTITUTION:The material to be used for the 1st layer as the protective film is the material which has the high adhesive powder to both of the magnetic film and the thin film material used for the 2nd layer. Both are preferably the materials which have the similar crystal structure and with which epitaxial continuity is expected or the materials which diffuse respectively slightly into the magnetic film and the 2nd layer or form the chemical reaction layer with both. There are, for example, materials such as Cr. The protective film of the construction in which at least >=1 sets of the thin film of the hard material such as, for example, SiO2 or hard carbon and the soft material such as, for example, Sn are alternately laminated is not only highly resistant to impact but is highly resistant to wear as well as the thin film material to be used for the 2nd and subsequent layers.
