1,216,749. Discharging molten metal. AEGELOTHERM G.m.b.H. 9 Sept., 1968 [20 Oct., 1967], No. 42764/68. Heading F4B. An upwardly sloping electromagnetic launder 2 discharging a holding or melting furnace 1 has above the level of the molten bath 3 an electrode 9 which when reached by the molten metal energizes a time relay Z to keep the inductor 6 energized until the collecting vessel is full. The process is started by closing switch E, energizing relay C to close contact C 2 and energize the inductor 6, and is completed by relay Z opening an interruptor contact Z 1 thereby tripping out relay C and opening contacts C 1 and C 2 . Molten metal then flows back down the launder into bath 3 until switch E is closed again.
|
