A process and apparatus for mixing viscous materials in which the material is passed through a housing (1) having a plurality of interengaging and overlapping circular mixing elements (11) on two driven parallel rotor shafts (4), the majority of material passing through openings (13) in the elements (11) having dimensions related to the viscosity of the material such that the flow in the openings (13) is fully developed therein and is not affected by the conditions existing outside of the openings. |
