The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of workpieces having a hub and a cylindrical contact surface extending coaxially, i.e. essentially perpendicularly, to the hub surface, such as multiple-groove pulleys, rims or the like, having an edging roller which acts on the edge region of a round blank and deforms the edge region of the round blank towards both sides, the cylindrical contact surface of the round blank obtained in this way then being processed further if required and the edging roller having, on its circumference, a central working area with a cutting tip and, adjoining the cutting tip on both sides, a respective guide surface, and, adjoining the latter, a pressure surface inclined relative to the axis of the edging roller.
