PURPOSE:To increase a coupling efficiency to the device to which light is to be transmitted by forming an incident plane of the lens part which is plastic- molded into a spherical shape forming its radius with an LED chip as the center and forming a projection plane of the lens part into such shape that parallel light fluxes are projected. CONSTITUTION:An enclosure 15 which is plastic-molded is attached to a stem 12 on which an LED chip 11 is mounted. An outside plane (convex part) 15a of a lens part 15-1 of the enclosure 15, namely, the projection plane where a light flux is emitted from the chip 11 is projected from the lens part 15-1 is constructed so that it forms an ellipse with the chip 11 as a focus. Also, an inside plane 15b of the lens part 15-1, namely, the incident plane into the lens part 15-1 of the light flux emitted from the chip 11 is formed into a spherical form with the chip 11 as the center. Consequently, a refraction of the light flux when entering the inside plane 15b of the lens part 15-1 can be prevented and the light fluxes passing through the lens 15-1 become parallel and do not scatter. Accordingly, it can be used as a light source of high efficiency. |
