PURPOSE:To enable a user to perform complicate copying function setting and trouble recovering operation over a look at a display in language that the user selects by providing a display control means which displays a message which is selected by a language selecting means and stored in a message memory on a display means. CONSTITUTION:An I/O port 11 sends out KEY data inputted through a key matrix 13 to the CPU12 of a copying machine body and also outputs the input from a language selection key 30 a decoder 14. The decoder 14 sends out a command for selecting one of message ROMs 5-8 according to the language selection output of a language selection key 30. An address decoder 15 indicates addresses 2-4. The message ROMs 5-8 are stored with messages explaining messages by languages in sentence units, i.e. all settable copying functions and copying function setting procedures in the same addresses respectively.
