PURPOSE:To prevent a rotor from becoming impossible to rotate due to stuck carbon by tapering the inner periphery and outer periphery of a cell wall forming the end face of the rotor against the end face of an air casing at the cross section in the rotor radius direction, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 3 is rotatably stored in a rotor housing 1. The rotor 3 is partitioned by cell walls 4 to form multiple cell spaces 5 so that the compression wave and expansion wave are one-dimensionally generated, and a clearance DELTAS is provided between its end face 3a and the end face 2a of an air casing 2. By this constitution, the annular inner periphery 4a and outer periphery 4b of the cell wall 4 forming the end face 3a of the rotor 3 are left as carbon cutters 15, 16 at part of the circumference respectively, on the other hand the remaining portions are tapered by chamfer-cutting at cross sections in the rotor radius direction.
