PURPOSE:To heat a roasting room as a whole uniformly without heating it abruptly and unevenly, by providing a heat exchanging device comprising two layers around the roasting chamber, wherein heating medium is filled in the layer located on the side facing said roasting chamber and discharge gas of high temperature produced by the combustion passes through the other layer. CONSTITUTION:A heating chamber 4 equipped with a burner 3 is provided in the lower part 2 of a roasting chamber 1, while a heat exchanging device with double layers consisting of a layer of heating medium 7 and a discharge passage 8 is provided at the sides 5 and the upper part 6 of said roasting chamber 1, from which discharge gas is discharged through a discharge port 9 provided on said upper part 6. Since discharge gas of high temperatures in the discharge passage is heat exchanged with the roasting chamber through the heating medium having heat conductivity lower than that of a metal, unevenness in the temperature distribution in the roasting chamber is eliminated, resulting in uniform roasting.
