PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of impact at the time of engine start without lowering the torque by providing a torque inversion detecting means for detecting the torque of a frictional element and starting the engine when the torque is under zero while disabling the frictional element. CONSTITUTION:A transmission 15 will block the reverse rotation of an output shaft 12 by the action of a frictional element 10 to perform the hill stop, thereby preventing creeping, by disabling another frictional element 13 and enabling idling of an input shaft 14. Upon start-up, the frictional element 13 is functioned to bring the torque of the frictional element 10 to zero, then a start commencing means 19 will disable the frictional element 10 to serve the transmission 15 as a starting speed change stage. Consequently, the torque of the output shaft of transmission will never drop below a gradient torque, thus enabling hill start of vehicle without causing backing nor a considerable impact. |
