PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a standing wave in between a base plate and a lower shell and reduce the generation of the noise of a compressor by forming said lower shell of an enclosed container into nearly a semispherical shape projecting out downward and fixing this enclosed container on the base plate of an installing body via a vibration isolating device. CONSTITUTION:An enclosed container consists of an upper shell 1, a cylindrical shell 2, and a semispherical lower shell 6 which is projected out downward, and a motor element 4 and a compressing element 5 are housed in a vertical arrangement in this enclosed container. And, the enclosed container is placed on the base plate 7 of an air compressor body via a rubber vibration isolator 10. Since the lower shell 6 of this compressor has a semispherical shape, no uniform space exists between said base plate 7 and the spherical lower shell 6. Accordingly, when operating the compressor, no standing wave is generated between the base plate 7 and the shell 6, being affected by the noise and vibration from the shell 6. As a result, noise generated from between the base plate 7 of the air compressor body and the semispherical lower shell 6 can be reduced. |
