PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of scum and the prevent the contamination of a roll and the generation of bubbles even during processing with an automatic developing device by using gelatin contg. a specified amount of a component having a specified average mol.wt. to form at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensitive silver halide material having at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on the support is manufactured, gelatin contg. <=40wt% component having <=100,000 average mol.wt. is used to form the colloidal layer. The photosensitive material having the colloidal layer is developed with an automatic developing device. The colloidal layer contg. the specified gelatin is formed as a silver halide emulsion layer, a surface protective layer, an intermediate layer, a filter layer or the like. Since the photosensitive material has the colloidal layer, the formation of scum can be remarkably inhibited especially during processing with an automatic developing device. The photosensitive material is very effective in inhibiting the formation of scum when used as a black- and-white or color photosensitive material especially for X-rays. |
