PURPOSE:To lower pressure loss and to enhance reactivity, by planning the titled honeycomb-shaped body so that each opening part thereof has a quadrilateral, wherein two opposed sides have the same length, other than a square and the lengths of the short and long sides of the opening part and the lattice wall thicknesses of the short and long sides satisfy definite relation. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb-shaped body used as a catalyst or an adsorbent is planned so that each opening thereof has a quadrilateral of which two opposed sides have an equal length but are different from the other sides in a length and the length (b) of the long side, the length (a) of the short side, the lattice wall b' forming the short side (a) and the lattice wall a' forming the long side (b) satisfy formula a/b<=a'/b<=(a/b)<1/3>. Thus planned honeycomb-shaped body is improved in reaction efficiency, low in fluid resistance and has constant strength. |
