New type of safety lock having mechanical operation with an electronically unlockable bolt 1 and key for actuating it. This lock is characterised by the fact that the bolt 1 which it comprises is normally held locked by a locking element 6 whose retraction is controlled by comparing the data of two microprocessors, one being embedded in the shank of the key, the other 10 being arranged inside the lock and being inaccessible from the outside. <IMAGE>
