PURPOSE:To make unnecessary an exclusive medium detection sensor by providing a means which detects the ejection of a floppy disc by terminating the detection of the floppy disc with a write protect sensor while a sending means outputs the loading signal of the floppy disc. CONSTITUTION:The first detecting means 1 is set when the floppy disc is inserted and the write protect sensor sends '1', and an index sensor outputs '0', and the second detecting means 2 is set when the floppy disc is inserted furthermore, and the index sensor outputs '1'. A sending means 4, when both the first detecting means 1 and the second detecting means 2 are set, sends '1' as a signal representing the loading of the floppy disc, and the third detecting means 3 sends the signal which resets both the first detecting means 1 and the second detecting means 2 with '0' sent from the write protect sensor while the sending means 4 sends '1', deciding that the disc has been ejected. Thereby, it is possible to omit an expensive medium detection sensor.
