The invention relates to a device for the selective axial movement of ink applicator rollers. The aim of the invention is to develop a distributing ink applicator roller which can be used, if required, to improve the inking quality. The object is achieved by a device for the selective back and forth movement of an ink applicator roller, in which no complicated drives and gear mechanisms are required and the switching-on and switching-off of the axial distribution is achieved in a simple manner. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the bearing for holding the ink applicator roller is provided with a guide bolt and the latter is held in a roller lever so as to be axially displaceable, but non-rotatable, over a defined path, and in that a bore running in the radial direction is formed in the guide bolt, into which bore a screw provided in the roller lever can be screwed, and in that the guide bolt has, on the side facing away from the bearing, an axial bore in which a compression spring and a compression bolt are arranged. <IMAGE>
