<p>Insulating mixt. of powdered oxide (e.g. MgO or Al2O3) and >5, pref. 5-30 wt % BN is used as compressed insulant with high thermal conductivity in heating element with high heat flow, contg. wire heating element(s) in sheath. This compsn. is suitable for heating elements used for brief high output, repeated thermal cycling, e.g. in gramophone record press, and in simulation of heating in nuclear fission elements in reactors during test. It utilises high thermal conductivity of BN and compressibility of MgO or Al2O3 powder.</p> |
