摘要 PURPOSE:To restrain both output torque and fuel consumption and the like from being reduced by allowing an ignition timing control of a cylinder or a cylinder group, and ignition timing control system of which is abnormal, to be retarded by a specified lag angle from that of a cylinder of a cylinder group, the timing control of which is normal. CONSTITUTION:The plural number of knocking sensors A which detects knocking of either each cylinder or each cylinder group, is provided so as to allow a judging means B to make a judgement as to whether an ignition timing control is out of order or not in either each cylinder or each cylinder group based on the result detected by these knocking sensors A. Output signals from the knocking sensors A and the judging means B are inputted into a ignition timing control means C so as to control the ignition timing of each cylinder or each cylinder group based on the signal from the knocking sensors A. And the ignition timing of a cylinder or a cylinder group, the ignition timing control of which is out of order, is controlled based on the judgement made by the judging means B by the timing control which is retarded by a certain lag angle from that of a cylinder or a cylinder group, the ignition timing control of which is in order.
