The invention relates to a method for working a bore with a tool, in particular for working cylinder faces of reciprocating piston engines, the tool having working strips distributed over its periphery, which can be pressed radially against the bore by means of an axially displaceable expanding cone, and the expanding cone being acted on hydraulically by a controllable hydraulic device. To obtain precise and sensitive control of the pressing force of the working strips, the force exerted on the expanding cone is measured and set to defined values by modification of the hydraulic pressure. Preferably, a spring and a force-sensing member can be inserted between the hydraulically acted-upon actuating element and the expanding cone. |
