A seat which can be converted into a bed has a furniture frame 1 in which two carriages 2 and 3 which can slide one inside the other are guided. Located on the carriage 3 is a two-part seat cushion 6, 7 which, in the pulled-out position of the carriages 2 and 3, can be placed on the carriage 2. The lying surface is supplemented by an auxiliary cushion 10 which, to achieve an exact movement sequence during the conversion and return of the furniture, is supported via arms 12 which are linked to the auxiliary cushion 10 at their one end near to the side of said auxiliary cushion facing the back cushion 11 and are guided at their other end in sloping guides 14. At its end facing away from the arms 12, the auxiliary cushion 10 is linked to the carriage 2 via a joint 9. <IMAGE>
