In an optical fibre cable branch having a through cable and a branch cable, in which the one or more optical fibres of the through cable are connected to at least one optical fibre of the branch cable, it is provided that the opening point of the optical fibre, provided for the branch, of the through cable is selected so as to make a sufficient optical fibre length available for splicing.
