<p>A slow vertical downward translation is applied to the liquid at low absolute pressure while vapour in the form of bubbles is passed upwards through the liquid. This vapour picks up volatile material and does not encounter any obstacles. This process is used in a plant which comprises chambers (5, 6, 7) intended for the liquid and provided with a liquid delivery conduit (15) opening into its upper part, a conduit (17, 20) for removing liquid from its lower part, means for introducing vapour (22) and a passage (25) for removing gas from its upper part. The means (22) for introducing vapour open in the immediate proximity of the bottom (14) of the chamber (5, 6, 7) which is free to the liquid throughout its height. <IMAGE></p> |
