PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic vapor deposited formed polymer body having superior antistatic, light shielding and heat insulating properties and durability by forming a layer of a condensation product of an org. functional silane compound with reactive silicone oil on the surface of a formed polymer body and a vapor deposited metallic layer on the condensation product layer. CONSTITUTION:A layer of a condensation product of an org. function silane compound such as gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane with reactive silicone oil such as organohydrogenpolysiloxane is formed on the surface of a formed polymer body such as fiber cloth or a film. A vapor deposited metallic layer is then formed on the condensation product layer which is flexible and suitable for coating. Vapor deposition is carried out with Cr, Al, Ni, Cu, Au, Ag or the like under about 1X10<-3>Torr pressure to about 40-300nm thickness. Thus, a metallic vapor deposited formed polymer body having satisfactory chemical resistance, stripping resistance and washing durability is obtd. |
