In order to create a seating-contact switch which has a small structural height and can be fixed in a simple manner, its lower housing half (which can be displaced relatively with respect to the upper housing half) has (on its end which can be pushed in between the seating-spring core and a cushioning layer covering it) an inclined surface which projects in the direction of the cushioning layer, and the lower housing half is provided on the underneath with a recess which is arranged approximately centrally and runs transversely with respect to the insertion direction, into which recess a wire of the spring core latches on reaching the installation position.
