Uncoupling device for toy vehicles and model vehicles, in particular model railway vehicles. Whilst some known uncoupling devices require a relatively large amount of space for installation, as a result of which they have not been hitherto installed into the particularly small, special shunting locomotives such as for example various Köf types, other devices have the disadvantage that when trailers are being pushed in the uncoupled state they unintentionally come away from the pushing power unit even with slight unevennesses in the track and when anything other than very slow braking occurs and thus coupling to the said power unit is unreliable if the trailer is to be pulled again. The disadvantages are eliminated in that the coupling element of the trailer has to slide over an oblique face arranged at the front on the coupling half of the power unit before it can come away from the said power unit, as a result of which undesired rolling away of pushed trailers is prevented and thus secure coupling during forward travelling is also ensured.
