<p>Breathalyser or drunkometer for assessing the amt. of alcohol is exhaled breath and hence in the blood is described. The test reagent crystals are sandwiched between two filter screens fitted diametrally across the bore of a tube through which breath is passed. A coaxial, tubular glass spacer inside each end of the tube locates each screen in an axial direction. Before use, the ends of the tube are pref. sealed with removable plugs. For use, the plugs are removed; one end of the tube is connected into the top of an inflatable bag and the other end is fitted with a flexible, tubular mouth piece. Used for breath-testing drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The tube passage becomes accessible simply by removing end plugs. There is no need to break off the end of a glass ampoule or tear a plastic seal. There is no possibility of reagent crystal entering the mouth.</p> |
